I’m Anniecia Marlena. A mother, herbalist, and holistic birth and postpartum doula. My work is Christ-centered, rooted in faith, and led by the belief that every woman was divinely designed to birth and nurture life.
My journey began when I was just 12 years old, standing beside my sister as she brought my nephew into the world. Even then, I felt something sacred unfold, and I knew I was called to walk with women during this powerful season of becoming. I didn’t have all the answers then, but I knew I was meant to serve.
Years later, that calling became crystal clear, and A Mother’s Way was born. I created this space for mothers who crave more than support; they want to feel seen, heard, and honored. Too often, women are left feeling isolated, fearful, and undervalued by a system that treats birth like a problem to solve. I believe birth is holy, and I’m here to remind you that your body was made for this.
With a B.A. in Biology, Doula Philosophy certification, and mentorship under the beautiful Mama Ife—pioneer of Holistic Black Doulaism—I’ve cultivated the tools to support you emotionally, spiritually, and practically throughout your journey. Whether we’re prepping for labor, navigating postpartum, or tuning into your body’s wisdom through herbs, you’ll always be met with care that honors your whole self.
This isn’t just work for me; it’s ministry.
My mission is to help you remember who you are in a world that often makes you forget. To replace fear with faith. To restore the trust that’s been stolen by a medical system that made you doubt your power. You were created for this, and I’m here to walk with you, fully grounded in grace, truth, and love.
